Meet the Artist

Miri Smerling

Miri is an American-Israeli artist, originally from outside Philadelphia and currently based in Northern Israel. Her creative journey began as a young girl - always diving deep into music, art, and culture.

While professionally she worked for many years in the hi-tech industry, the Covid period provided her with new opportunities to learn and grow as an artist. In 2021 she began studying with Arina Albo, an Israeli artist and teacher who exposed her to the theories and methods of graphite sketching and watercolor.

From that point, she has learned extensively and immersed herself in art, taking inspiration primarily from 19th century and early 20th century artists like Claude Monet, Marc Chagall, Renoir, and Van Gogh as well as Contemporary Israeli and global artists.

Since October 7th, art has truly been a lifeline for her during this tumultuous time. From January to March 2024, she participated in a Tel Aviv cohort of Julia Cameron’s course “The Artist’s Way”. The course helped her to expand artistic horizons and pushed her to further explore this artist career path.

Now she is selling her originals and prints within Israel and internationally, exploring different mediums and techniques. She hopes to bring more color to people’s lives, spotlight beautiful places and moments, and build a community for creativity in Israel and globally.
